Lecture 14 — Student Project Presentations (Part 1)

Format

  • Time per group: 12 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A + 3 minutes peer evaluation.
  • Roughly half the groups present today; the remainder present in Lecture 15.

Required Content of Each Presentation

  1. Project description and scope.
  2. Cost estimate (Function Points or COCOMO II), with assumptions.
  3. Cash-flow forecast and at least two alternatives.
  4. NPV, IRR, payback, PI for each alternative.
  5. Sensitivity or risk analysis (Tornado, decision tree, or Monte Carlo).
  6. (Bonus) AI-cost dimension.
  7. Final recommendation with stakeholder justification.

Instructor Grading

The instructor's rubric mirrors the peer rubric with two additions: (a) data realism, (b) integration of AI economics where relevant.
